The Section 8 waiting list is currently closed. The Section 8 list is opened on periodic basis by an advertisement placed in Star-Leger and the Spanish language newspapers. The advertisement will have an application for prospective applicants to complete and mail back to the IHA. Once received, all application will randomly drawn and assigned a number on the waiting list.

Section 8 Program provides families with a Housing Choice Voucher, to provide families affordable housing choices. Housing Choice Voucher program is a tenant based assistance which is regulated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The programs provide rental assistance to eligible applicants based on the income of the household. Presently the waiting is closed. When the Section 8 waiting list is open notification will be placed in the news papers. When the initial application is asked to be completed, eligibility is based the income limits listed below establish by HUD.
